When Technology Fails…

August 22, 2007 at 6:29 am (Uncategorized)

So when technology works, it can run the world! But when it is not in the mood to co-operate……. :(

My attempt to join the flickr community during the week could only be described as UNSUCCESSFUL!!!!! It can drive you to insanity!

And in actual fact I did manage to join but then it would not let me load pictures, change my profile or comment on others peoples spots!!!!!!

I am still trying too be allowed to join the site and then actually USE it!!!!!

I’ll let you know!!!!

The Web!

August 22, 2007 at 6:25 am (Uncategorized)

Even though we have now studyed numerous computing classes in Education and I use technology almost everyday, I don’t think I had ever really looked at it as multi dimensional.

On our recent practical experiences, I was lucky to be at a very technology literate school. The resources availabe to use on the internet and through other technology sources was invaluable on the experience.

These resources such as computer, laptops, overhead projectors and more meant that we could communicate on more then one medium. It also meant that we were definitely on the same wave length as the students who live on my space and msn.

However I had never considered that some forms of the web are NOT interactionary! This new idea of web 1.0 and web 2.0 was completely new to me. It did make sense once I thought about it but it definitely took me by surprise!

You can use a computer or the internet and get a desired result, wether it be information or an assignment. This to me seemed to be an interationary process.

However looking at some of the forms of web2.0 this theory has definitely cleared some!!! The way that people can form communities online, create whole worlds and interacte with people as if they were next door is certainly a step up from making your own website!!!!!!!!!!!
